The Ann Arbor News in Michigan published its final print edition today and will launch an online only edition beginning Friday.

Ed Petykiewicz, editor, said the paper published a commemorative edition for its readers.

Sheila Conlin, a producer for NBC News Channel in Washington and a grad student at Georgetown University, recently traveled to Ann Arbor to do a piece on the newspaper shutting down. She produced this piece for NBC and as part of her Master’s program work.

Sheila plans to return to Ann Arbor in about a month to document the opening of the dot.com. ASNE plans to post that video as well once it becomes available.
